Working with 2.0

This is my presentation for my tech 1 class, I will give the pros and cons about the different things I've discovered since I started use the WEB 2.0 system. I have learned how to use a Diigo, Podcast,Wiki,Google Docs and Moodle.

My first tool to be used is moodle. I like this program because it is a virtual classroom. You can setup a class and the students can do there work anytime and anywhere they have access. So for example if we have another blizzard and we get stuck indoors or a kids home for any reason, they can still see there work and do it and the teacher can check it. The challenge to this is its not face to face and some kids need that teacher around them.

The next tool  I used is wiki, this tool can be used as a student debt page. The teacher can ask a group of students to work on a paper and they can give there input on it. One student can start the paper and others can put there info on it. The challenge for this is that some people don't know a wiki can be edited so, they think what they see is 100 % true when in fact it can be started by anyone and the can put anything they wish true or not.

The third is a podcast which is a non musical audio and video tool, you can use this to give students info about projects. For example some students learn better this way and can express them selves better this way, its another anytime anywhere tool. The challenge to is recording stuff my take a few times which could frustrate a student.

The fourth tool I learned to use is Google Doc, its a free web base office suite offered by Google. It allows users to create and edit documents online while working in real time with other users, it feels to me to be much like Wiki but only has less people to look at it. The only challenge I see is that people could keep editing it so you would only let a few students edited it for a certain time.

The fifth and final tool from web 2.0 that I used is the Diigo. Its a social bookmarking website which allows signed up users to bookmark and tag web pages, It also allows the users to highlight any part of a web page that interest them. You can also put a web sticky note to a specific highlight or the whole web page. Only challenge I can see is that make sure you update bookmark and tag what you are really into cause it will keep you from looking up stuff and wasting time.
